Learn the craft. Then specialise.

Every programme is taught in person in our Ikorodu studio, with a tutor beside you as you draft, cut, sew and fit. Start as a complete beginner, or jump straight into bridal, corsetry or business if you already sew.

This is where complete beginners start — including people who have never threaded a machine. You'll learn to take accurate measurements, draft your own patterns and sew complete garments from start to finish.

What you'll learn

  • Body measurement — taking and recording accurate measurements for any client.
  • Pattern drafting — drafting bodice, skirt, sleeve and trouser blocks from your measurements.
  • Machine skills — operating, threading and caring for a sewing machine; straight seams, curves and finishes.
  • Garment construction — darts, zips, facings, hems and why each step matters.
  • Your first garments — basic gowns, skirts, tops and casual wear, sewn and fitted in class.
  • Fashion illustration basics — sketching ideas so you can show clients what you'll make.
Ready for more after the basics? The Intermediate class is the next step — our current intermediate students are already putting their basic-gown knowledge into practice.

For tailors and self-taught sewists who want their work to look expensive. We focus on the details clients notice: fit, structure, clean insides and confident styling.

What you'll learn

  • Advanced fitting — diagnosing and correcting fit problems, including dart placement on the bust.
  • Owanbe & aso ebi styles — interpreting trending styles and adapting them to each client.
  • Corporate wear — tailored dresses, skirts, jackets and two-piece sets.
  • Ready-to-wear & contemporary — producing pieces in standard sizes.
  • Linings & finishing — the inside of the garment, done properly.

Bridal gowns and owanbe statement pieces are some of the highest-paying work in Lagos fashion. This class teaches the structure and handwork behind them.

What you'll learn

  • Bridal gown construction — bodices, skirts, trains and the support that holds them.
  • Lace placement — cutting, positioning and appliquéing lace so it flatters the body.
  • Embellishment — beading, stones and finishing for reception and owambe looks.
  • Structured bodices — an introduction to corsetry for bridal wear.
  • Working with brides — consultations, fittings and timelines that keep weddings on schedule.
