Admissions FAQ

Everything students ask us.

Do I need any sewing experience?

No. The Beginners class starts from body measurement and pattern drafting and builds up to complete garments. If you already sew, we'll place you in the Intermediate class or a specialist class instead.

How much are the fees?

Fees depend on the programme. The 2-week Corset Masterclass (11–22 Jan 2027) is ₦250,000, or ₦230,000 early bird, with project materials provided. For all other programmes, request the 2027 fee list on WhatsApp.

Can I pay in instalments?

Ask admissions about payment options for your programme when you request your fee list.

How long does each programme take?

The Corset Masterclass runs for two weeks. Durations for the Beginners, Intermediate and Bridal programmes are confirmed with your fee list, because they depend on the class and schedule you choose.

What days and times are classes?

Classes hold in the daytime at our Ikorodu studio, which closes at 5 pm. Your exact class days are confirmed when you register. Let us know if you'd prefer weekends and we'll tell you what's available.

Do you offer accommodation?

Yes — accommodation can be arranged for students who need it, including masterclass participants travelling from outside Lagos. Tick the box on the form so we can plan for you.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. You receive an Alobeda Fashion Academy certificate on completion, presented at our annual Graduation & Award Ceremony.

Do I need to buy my own sewing machine?

You train on the academy's machines in class. You'll need some personal hand tools — see the typical kit list — and admissions will confirm exactly what to bring.

Are classes online or physical?

Our training is hands-on and in person at the studio, because fitting and construction are best learned with a tutor beside you. Ask us if you need another arrangement.

Is there an age requirement?

We welcome school leavers, graduates, working professionals and career-changers. If you're under 18, please contact us first so a parent or guardian can be involved.

Can I visit before I register?

Yes, you're welcome to see the studio at 1A Unity Close, Eruwen Road, Ikorodu. Please call 0706 277 6371 before you come.
